My role in the LMNS is to work with the maternity transformation team to ensure the recommendations from Better Births, the NHS Five Year Plan and Ockenden are implemented and embedded into the care provided to the women of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. I have a keen interest in governance and improving Quality and Safety.

I trained as a nurse with Keele University after leaving school in 1999, I then went on to complete my midwifery training in 2004.

I am delighted to join the Staffordshire and Stoke LMNS as a Quality and Safety Midwife. I am looking forward to working towards delivering the national priorities and addressing the needs of the local population.

I am looking forward to working collaboratively with system partners and national and regional teams, to deliver quality and transformation objectives to improve outcomes. I have been a registered midwife for 20 years and my passion has always been maternity transformation to deliver safer, more personalised care.

  • Jen Docherty - Project Support Officer and Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership Lead

Jen Docherty - Project Support Officer and Maternity & Neonatal Voices Partnership Lead

My role as the MNVP Lead for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, is to ensure that the voices of our services users are at the heart of the local Maternity and Neonatal offer.  I head up a team of volunteer service user representatives, who are our wonderful MNVP Champions.  Together we engage and communicate with Mums/Birthing People, Dads/Partners, and families across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, to gather feedback on their experiences, allowing the opportunity to shape the future of these services, and for them to be co-designed and co-produced by local people, families, and healthcare professionals.

  • Helen Clarke - Project Support Assistant

Helen Clarke - Project Support Assistant

I joined the team in February 2022 and my role includes responsibilities such as administering each of the Maternity committee meetings, providing administrative support to all of the team and nagging them all about deadlines!

I am a Mental Health First Aider so try my best to keep everyone’s spirits up and be there for them when they need me.
