This strategy, which runs until 2027, has been developed with our partner organisations, Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), to develop a responsive mental health service that will focus on optimising bed use, developing integrated care pathways and prioritising patient wellbeing. The strategy aims to improve access to effective care and ensure positive outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

A Year One Review, which provides a comprehensive overview of the progress made during 2024/25 (Year One) of the Inpatient Quality Transformation Programme, is now available. This initial phase has been crucial in setting the strategic groundwork, providing invaluable data and insights that will directly inform and guide the subsequent phases of service redesign, operational improvements, and sustainable cultural change, ensuring that future transformations are evidence-based, responsive to the genuine needs of our patients and staff, and aligned with best practice.

A summary of the public engagement activity that took place during Year One of the strategy is also available.
