Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board supports the Change NHS national conversation and encourages members of the public, as well as NHS staff and health experts to share their experiences, views and ideas for fixing the NHS via the online platform, Change NHS.

The website will be live until the start of next year, and available via the NHS App. This public engagement exercise will help shape the government’s 10-Year Health Plan which will be published in Spring 2025 and will be underlined by three big shifts in healthcare – hospital to community, analogue to digital, and sickness to prevention.

Q&A

What is the NHS 10-Year Health Plan?

The government is developing a new plan with the NHS aimed at improving healthcare for everyone.
The plan wants to shift healthcare from hospitals to local communities, use more digital technology, and focus on preventing illnesses instead of just treating them when they happen.

What is the purpose of this engagement?

The purpose of this engagement is to gather feedback from the general public and people working in health and care to inform decision-making on the government’s 10-Year Health Plan for England.
Please go to About this engagement to read more about the purpose of this engagement.

Why is my feedback important?

As patients, members of the public, or frontline staff, you see directly what’s working and what’s going wrong. The NHS can only be made fit for the future if we learn from your experiences and your priorities.
Your feedback will directly inform the development of the government’s 10-Year Health Plan for England.
Alongside your feedback, we will take into account a wide range of contributions, including further research and feedback from experts and partners.

Who can take part in this engagement?

Everyone over the age of 16 living in England. Participation is entirely voluntary.
There are certain questions aimed at those working in the health and care sector to ensure they can share their views and experiences, and others written specifically for those who use services.

How can I have my say?

Everyone will be able to share their experiences, views and ideas via the online platform, change.nhs.uk, which will be live until early next year.

How long does it take?

We expect it will take most people a few minutes to complete.
You can then choose to spend a bit more time telling us about an experience you’ve had, or ideas for change and can create a profile to return to the site.
