To rebuild new and improved services that address inequalities, and better support individuals, families and communities, we need to talk to local people, find out what matters to them and find out what we can do to support them.

Our Working with People and Communities Strategy outlines how we are going to do this. It has been produced in collaboration with partners and stakeholder,s and will continue to develop alongside the Integrated Care Board and the Integrated Care Partnership.

The below animation sets out the ICB’s ambition for how we want to involve people and communities in our work:

There are different ways local people and communities can get involved with the wider health and care system across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Below is a list of some examples. Please contact ssotics.comms@staffstoke.icb.nhs.uk if you would like more information.

Accessibility support

We aim to make any engagement opportunities as accessible as reasonably possible. If you have a specific requirement or can support us in making our groups accessible, please contact ssotics.comms@staffstoke.icb.nhs.uk.

Monitoring and evaluation

To ensure we continue to involve people in our work and plans, we will:

  • continuously monitor and evaluate our engagement and involvement strategy to ensure that it remains effective.
  • review our annual plan that supports the delivery of the strategy. The plan will be developed, tested and iterated in partnership with local people across our communities, to ensure that it is fit for purpose.
  • run regular performance reports to measure key performance metrics, including; reputation management, media analysis, public polling and citizen engagement. These metrics will be regularly monitored and reviewed, and used to report back to the ICB on progress, and performance.
