Dr Paddy Hannigan will be joining the ICB as a Partner Member within Primary Care.

Dr Paddy Hannigan is an experienced GP having worked in Stafford for over 30 years. He qualified from Nottingham University Medical School before completing his GP training in Stafford.

After seeing the problems at Mid Staffs Hospital and the subsequent Francis enquiry he joined Stafford & Surrounds Clinical Commissioning Group as it was authorised in 2011, becoming its Chair from 2013. As a GP, he sees how patients experience local health and care services and will bring this into the ICB.

General Practice is the cornerstone of NHS Healthcare but is currently under severe pressure. Paddy wants to help the ICB develop General Practice services that the public want and expect, whilst improving the experience of staff working in this area.

Paddy is passionate about the use of digital technology and data to improve care, he was one of the clinical leads for the Staffs & Stoke Integrated Care Record project and led the digital programme for several years. He was the clinical lead for our successful Covid vaccination programme.
