Chris started his career as an accountant and worked for a number of local authorities developing a specialism in social care finance before joining the NHS in 2008.

Chris has held a number of leadership roles across the NHS including Director of Contracting for the six Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent clinical commissioning groups before joining North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT) as the Director of Strategy, Partnerships and Digital.   

He joins the Integrated Care Board as Chief Transformation Officer on a 12-month secondment. Chris’ legacy at NSCHT includes driving their medium-term corporate strategy, digital transformation, vertical integration with primary care, business development and programme office as well as communications innovation.    

Passionate about tackling equality across public services, Chris is well-known in the local health and care system, as he has also served as the local system lead for Sustainability and for developing Place-based Partnership arrangements. 

Chris is hugely excited about the prospect of working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. He is optimistic that by working together we can deliver real and meaningful service transformation to improve the quality of care, outcomes and experiences for the people of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
