Alex has spent most of her career in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin in a number of roles but interestingly started her career originally as a nurse and was Professional Lead for District Nursing across North Staffordshire in conjunction with a Lecturer in Nursing role at Keele University, before moving on to operationally leading and managing community services in Stoke-on-Trent.

She went on to pursue a career in Organisational and Workforce Development which progressed to her leading the full range of People services for many years as a Deputy Director, before she became a Board level Executive Director. She is a qualified Executive Coach and Team Coach. She has a Master of Arts degree in Management Learning and Leadership from Lancaster University (Business School) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

In addition to her role at MPFT (Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust), Alex has led the ICS (Integrated Care System) People Programme and been Vice Chair of the ICS People Board for the last 3 years as well as leading the People Hub during the COVID-19 response. Alex will continue in her director role at MPFT once she joins the Integrated Care Board.
