Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board has signed up to NHS England’s first ever sexual safety organisational charter.

The charter – the first of its kind – was launched last September in collaboration with key partners across the healthcare system and comprises ten commitments.

The charter has also been adopted by partners within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System (ICS) including Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) and University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM).

Signatories to the charter commit to taking and enforcing a zero-tolerance approach to unwanted, inappropriate and/or harmful sexual behaviours within the workplace. Signatories to the charter are expected to implement all ten commitments by July 2024. You can read more about the sexual safety organisational charter on the NHS England website.
