We recognise that our local people and communities need to be at the heart of everything that we do, informing all of our plans and priorities.

As such, we have been developing systems, processes, groups and initiatives to support this, including a system-wide People and Communities Assembly, which will report to the ICB through the quality and safety committee.

The People and Communities Assembly aims to bring together a wide range of people who can help us really listen to the people of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

We are looking for people who can:

  • Tell us how to share information – especially for those who don’t have access to digital channels
  • Advise us on how to hear people’s views
  • Show us where to find people that we often miss
  • Support us to build strong relationships with the public
  • Hold us to account – to make sure we are doing engagement right

The Assembly will include representatives from organisations such as Healthwatch and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector but also members of the public who can show us how to get into grass roots communities

Public Members

The role of public members will be to:

  • Identify groups or channels that could be used to get the views of the public
  • Advise us on how to adapt our approach for a particular group
  • Alert us to groups or communities that we might not be reaching through existing channels
  • Share information about best practice or things to avoid

How you can apply

If you would like to join our People and Communities Assembly, please get in touch to tell us:

  • Who you are
  • Which group or community you could support us to engage with
  • Any previous experience you have
  • What does engagement mean to you
